Coaches RZ 151-160 / RZ 161

Description

When in 1951 ten railbusses weree ordered with Uerdingen, also coaches belonging to these were ordered. They were the same as the DB coaches VB 142.001. Order was placed at Uerdingen for ten coaches..

When in 1955 one of the motor railbusses was destroyed in an accident in Bissen, a new railbus was ordered for this. This became the new Z 161. To let the numbers of motor coaches and wagons the same, the existing RZ 1055 was renumbered into RZ 1061.

The carriages went out of service in the year 1969 and 1970.

Other details

RZ 1002 and 1007 in 1978 to GAR, but because of bad state demolished later on.
The GAR acquired another similar carriage from SNCF, XR 8291 and renumbered it into RZ 1011. This carriage will ride with museum railcar Z 105.
