Diesel trains series 201

Description

In 1955 the CFL ordered 8 trains, consisting of 2 parts, delivered in 1956. They were of the same type as the DB VT08 and 11 units riding on the Köln-Bonner-Eisenbahn. They were in service on all main lines of the network of the CFL. It was a unit consisting of two equal diesel-hydraulic units. In the begin years the number was 401-408. But already in 1956, when two trains were delivered, it was decided to renumber the trains into 201-208. Both parts of a train were to be specified with the letter A or B. From 1983 on the B-part was renumbered into the numbers 211-218.

In 1962 the 205 was involved in an severe accident in Schifflange; it was repaired.

From 1994 on they went out of service.
