Capitel 86: Hasselt - Herk-de-Stad - Halen

Trackwidth: 1000 mm

Hasselt - Herk-de-Stad

Plans came in 1895, permission was given in 1897. Because of troubles with a railway crossing it lasted three years before the line was opened in 1900.

Finance: 670.000 franc (state: 335.000, province Limburg: 223.000, local communities: 112.000)

Herk-de-Stad - Halen

Plans for this part came some years later. In 1900 the plan was made, in 1903 permission was given. This part was opened in 1905.

Finance: 300.000 franc (state: 150.000, province Limburg: 100.000, local communities: 50.000)
