The upper station (near the entrance of the grotte) was situated several 100 meters from the entrance of the grotte. In 1957 it was decided to make a halt about 300 meter before the end of the line. There passengers could disembark the tram and go over a very steep path to the entrance of the grotte.
That was not a great succsess. So in 1968 it was decided to make over several 100 meters a new line to the entrance of the grotte.
The line ffrom Han-sur-Lesse to the grottes is still in use today and brings many passengers from the village of Han-sur-Lesse to the entrance of the grotte and the entrance of the wild park which is situated around the hills.
