Hasselt - Leopoldsburg

In 1886 the plans for this line were made. But the minister of transport did not agree because of competition with the railway line. Many negotiations followed, and in 1888 allowance was given. But the NMVB waited and only in 1897 allowance was asked to create the line, which was given in 1898. The line was opened in 1899.

Finance: 1.046.000 franc (state: 436.000, province Limburg: 349.000, local communities: 231.000, private persons: 30.000).

Zonhoven - Heusden - Koersel

Because of the coal mines in Houthalen and Beringen, it was thought positive to connect them with the tram network. First plans for this were made in 1935, it lasted until 1941 and 1948 before the lines were opened in parts.
