Capitel 81: Hasselt - Oreye

Trackwidth: 1000 mm

The first plans for this line came in 1888. The plan was for two lines: a line from Hasselt to Oreye, and a line from Tongeren to Oreye. But these plans were not accorded. The city of Hasselt asked in 1895 for a new plan, now only from Hasselt to Oreye, which was accorded in 1897. The line was opened in parts, Hasselt - Borgloon in 1899 and Borloon-Oreye in 1900.

Finance: 1.762.000 franc (state: 881.000, province Limburg: 541.000, province Liège: 46.000, local communities: 294.000).
