Capitel 78: Courcelles - Incourt - Gembloux

Trackwidth: 1000 mm

In 1890 several communities asked for a tram line from Gosselies to Incourt via Chastre. Allowance was given in the same year. But goods transport between Gosselies and Tilly was forbidden, this because of competition with the railway line between Charleroi and Tilly. Because of this, the NMVB only wanted to make the lilne between Tilly and Incourt with a branch from Sart-Risbart to Gembloux. Only in 1899 the permission of the line was given.

Financing: 3.242.000 franc (state: 1.180.000, province Brabant: 719.000, province Namur: 122.000, local communities: 1.221.000).

For the part of the line between Courcelles and Tilly permission came in 1899.

Financing for this part: 1.060.000 franc (state: 530.000, province Brabant: 74.000, province Hainault: 191.000, local communities: 265.000)
