Capitel 130: Maaseik - Molenbeersel ( - Weert)

Trackwidth: 1000 mm

Plans for this line came in 1898. Because it would be an international line, there were some special things to be settled. For the part of the line in the Netherlands the NMVB would construct the line on behalf of the municipalities in the Netherlands. In 1902 allowance was given to create the line.

A public tender for the operation of the line yielded no results; No company was prepared to take on the operation of the line. Therefore a new company was created with seat in Maaseik with shareholders the municipalities along the line.

Finance: 555.000 franc (state: 277.000, proince Limburg: 185.000, local communities: 93.000)

Operators:

  • MWFrom begin until 1925
