Liège - Wihogne

The first plans for a line between Tongeren and Liège date from 1885. But the NMVB was not enthousiast for this plan. There was already a railway line betwee those two cities, and there were few inhabitants in this region. The plan of 1885 was not carried out. Later, in 1891 a plan came for a line Liège - Wihogne - Ohée, where connection would be made with the line from Tongeren to Fexhe-le-Haut-Clocher. But because of competition this plan was not accorded. Only the part of the line from Liège to Wihogne was accorded in 1898. The line was opened in several different pieces.

Finance: 1.112.000 francs (State: 556.000, province Liège: 370.000, local communities: 186.000).

Wihogne - Tongeren

The first plan was of 1898, but was not accorded because of competition with the railway between Liège and Tongeren. Later on the plan was renewed and in 1905 allowance was given. The line was opened in parts in 1905 and 1908.

Rocourt - Vottem

A branch from the line Liège - Wihogne was planned in 1898. Soon allowance came so the line could be opened in 1903.
